Overview of Role:

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a qualified Actuary to join our London-based consultancy team. Responsibilities will Include the Following:

  • Participate in delivering re-engineering and business improvement projects whether at a strategic business-wide level or at a functional or process level, potentially including the review and streamlining of actuarial reporting processes
  • Work as part of consultancy teams to lead the analysis of complex data and creation of valuable management insights from information
  • Contribute to the development of our actuarial offering
  • Utilise strong analytical skills to provide solutions for both technical and business related issues associated with the implementation business analytics solutions, including, by not limited to:
    • Develop models for financial projection, business planning and profit reporting purposes
    • Complete regulatory solvency calculations and prepare forecasts of solvency positions
    • Track Solvency 2 developments and input into development of the Internal Capital Model, Investment and operational risks
    • Sensitivity testing of Client investment portfolio’s to ensure sufficient regulatory capital is maintained at all times
    • Review of actuarial reserve calculations in respect of premiums and claims for management reporting, financial statement and reporting purposes

Experience and Skills required for the role of Actuary:

  • A qualified Actuary with appropriate experience in the non-Life Insurance Industry, and exposure to International markets and products
  • A sound appreciation of project management processes and techniques. Internal or external consultancy experience would is desirable
  • An understanding of generic business strategy and the components that underpin high performance
  • Experience of reinsurance operations and structures is desirable
  • You will have an appetite for learning and genuinely desire a career where creativity and ingenuity are valued and encouraged
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong team member, able to contribute to the ongoing success of Distinct
